I don’t think I ever followed up on the World Aerobatics Championship, so I will fill you in on the results, but first, if you are near North Texas Regional Airport (KGYI) in Sherman, Texas you should head over and watch the 2011 US National Aerobatic Championship. It’s been running since Sunday the 25th, which means that today and tomorrow, the 30th, are the last days. I’m sure there is still plenty of flying remaining, but I do know the results of the Unlimited competition are in and Rob Holland is this years U.S. Unlimited National Champion.
As for the World Aerobatic Championships, the US team placed 3rd overall with Goody Thomas and Rob Holland taking 7th and 8th overall. We put on a good show and I know everyone had a good time, the French and the Russians just outdid us. Anyway, this is a short post, but I do have a very nice video for you courtesy of FAI Aerobatics. It’s a nice little segment on the atmosphere at the 2011 WAC in Foligno.

Hello, my name is Matt Everett and as of 1/1/2010 I am a private pilot ASEL. I started this blog early in my training and used it primarily as a place to keep notes of my lessons. Since then it has grown to much more than that, but my main focus is still on aviation experiences.
