I’ve recently come to the realization that I would like to make an epic flight. I was reading this article on AvWeb and it hit me how inspiring I found the idea of setting off across the country in an old and slow plane. I really envy this guy.
It’s probably just my lust for some life altering adventure, but still who’s to say it won’t ever happen. Recently I was thinking about how I’d love to take a Piper Cub or something similar and circumnavigate the United States. Something akin to the Great Circle Air Safari. See here for more info: http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/journal/great-circle-air-safari-map.htm and http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/journal/vintage-air.htm.
There is no way this would fly with my wife, but a man can dream can’t he? Anybody want to sponsor my journey? I’ll write about it and film it. I’ll need a plane and some better camera equipment. Oh, fuel too.

Hello, my name is Matt Everett and as of 1/1/2010 I am a private pilot ASEL. I started this blog early in my training and used it primarily as a place to keep notes of my lessons. Since then it has grown to much more than that, but my main focus is still on aviation experiences. It is my sincerest hope that this blog is a resource for others as much as it is a resource for me.
