I went to Dr. Gibson in Maryville and had a physical for a Third Class Medical done. There were a lot of other people there for flight physicals. I was a little worried that I might not pass. I’m not really sure why, but I was worried nonetheless. After about 2 and a half hours I was given the all clear and issued my medical certificate and student pilot certificate. I was elated. I know that I didn’t have to do a medical this early in the process, but in talking to Josh after the flight he recommended that I do it as soon as possible. It only seemed logical to me that I should spend $100 dollars to find out if would be able to fly rather than spend hundreds to get to the point where I needed a medical and find out then that I couldn’t go any further.
Right after I finished up there I went to the flight school and paid for my books and ground school. Unfortunately that doesn’t start until next week. I can’t wait.

Hello, my name is Matt Everett and as of 1/1/2010 I am a private pilot ASEL. I started this blog early in my training and used it primarily as a place to keep notes of my lessons. Since then it has grown to much more than that, but my main focus is still on aviation experiences. It is my sincerest hope that this blog is a resource for others as much as it is a resource for me.
