A Couple of Interesting Things | Flying Friday

1 Comment 17 June 2011

If you're looking for a destination for your weekend flight, I recommend you check out the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. The facility is part of the Smithshonian's National Air and Space Museum (probably the best part for plane geeks) and will play host to the annual 'Become a Pilot' day tomorrow, June 18th. Unlike the main museum,... Read more »

It’s a Bad Day To Fly | Movie Monday

No Comments 13 June 2011

I'm not sure if you've noticed or not, but the site looks different. I've taken a bit of a hiatus in order to redesign the site and establish a Facebook page. To make a long story short, I spent an inordinate amount of time attempting to make a custom Wordpress theme that I abandoned for... Read more »

Things are getting out of control

No Comments 30 August 2010

I'd like to begin this post by asking a question. How many people would like to be taken from your vehicle at gunpoint, handcuffed and detained because several years ago someone stole a car with a license plate number that matches the one the state just assigned your new car? Video: FAA on Mountain Flying

No Comments 23 August 2010

Procedure Change: Runway Crossings

No Comments 28 June 2010

I just received one of those helpful emails from the FAA.  Regarding a "new runway crossing procedure." Apparently, as of 30th June, you will no longer be told by ATC to "Taxi to..." From now on you must receive explicit instructions to cross runways.  Since 30th June is two days away, I really hope the... Read more »

About the author

Hello, my name is Matt Everett and as of 1/1/2010 I am a private pilot ASEL. I started this blog early in my training and used it primarily as a place to keep notes of my lessons. Since then it has grown to much more than that, but my main focus is still on aviation experiences. It is my sincerest hope that this blog is a resource for others as much as it is a resource for me.
