Recently I’ve been thinking about this blog and its future. I really enjoy having an outlet for my writing and I’m pleased with what the blog has been, but I would like to take it to the next level. I just thought I would talk about it a little, to avoid any surprises and also in hopes of finding out more about what content you’d like to see here.

My plan will initially manifest itself as a more structured posting schedule and a handful of regular post themes. The goal is to create better content and do so more often. The schedule I’m looking at is one post per day on Monday through Friday and then a single weekend post. The weekend post will be more of a “week-in-review” collection of news and other items from the previous week. Additionally, I’m thinking about doing regular flying tip and aircraft spotlight posts. I rather enjoy creating those type of posts because they help me learn while I’m writing them. Ideally I’d like the aircraft spotlights to involve me flying the aircraft, but that may take some time to get rolling.

At some point I’m going to finally get all the stuff to make a go at in-flight video. I have three HD cameras, but I’m desperately short of mounting solutions. I keep losing my focus and the next thing I know I’ve got a page full of camera placements and ideas that involve some serious airframe modifications.

As for my flying, I’ve not been doing much as of late. I have some very defined training plans that will get me to my goal, but having just acquired a home mortgage I’m not in the most financially flexible point right now (I’m working on it though). As for that goal, I know I want to get my CFI-I and I’m starting to come around to the idea of flying for a living (freight or corporate). Either way I’m going write about it all the way. Now to make it over the first hurdles, get back flying and actually finish the online instrument ground school.

Anyway, What other content would you like to see here? I’m open to pretty much anything aviation-related.
